Sebastian (Schooner) logbook, 1785.

This incomplete logbook of the schooner Sebastian details a shipping voyage that possibly began in Salem, Mass., to Charleston, S.C. and Martinique, Saint Eustatius and the Turks and Caicos Islands in the West Indies, Jan.-May 1785. The schooner's master was Benjamin Hodges; the agent was Elias Hasket Derby. The logbook includes notes on shipboard occupations and the equipment and supplies, specifically provisions, aboard ship. During its voyage, the Sebastian spoke the ship Industry.
